The 230 perfume bottles and powder boxes on show are enough to light up anybody’s romantic imagination! The Silvio Denz Foundation has contributed some exceptional pieces to this fabulous and diverse collection. It was René Lalique’s encounter with François Coty, the famous perfumer that inspired him to find the techniques to start mass producing.

He subsequently designed bottles for the most famous names of his day, such as Houbigant, Molinard, d’Orsay, Roger&Gallet and Worth. He created a « body » to contain the precious olfactory essences and gave the fragrance an image.

Tiara flower bottles, with their sumptuous stopper that « crowns » the bottle, are one of the features associated with Lalique’s creativity in this area. He also obtained patents for a number of techniques including the simultaneous mould-blowing-pressing technique. You can see a visual animation demonstrating this process.
